When it comes to addiction, I suffer from a severe addiction to cookbooks and recipe books. It’s pretty bad and there should probably be a 12 step program for me because every single time I see a new book out, I HAVE to have it. That’s wrong… every time I see a book out that I DON’T have, I have to have it.. whether it’s old or new!!
My bookshelves and house are stacked with book after book after book and I just can’t wait to pack them all up for when Adam and I move out west (yeah, sense the sarcasm in that line?! Anyone want to help? I’ll make you a batch of allergy free anything you want!! haha).
I just love seeing what other people are making and how they’re making it and what they’re doing and most importantly of all, I love to drool over the photos. Honestly, I could probably look at food photos all day, though when it comes down to it, it’s really the recipe that matters and not the photo, which is why many of the books I own don’t have any photos in them at all and some of them have the BEST recipes ever!
Today’s book, Welcoming Kitchen by Kim Lutz with Megan Hart, MS, RD, LD is a great new book I received and automatically loved. It’s not a HUGE cookbook (well, I mean in height and width, it is huge though, it’s got 200 recipes) so it can easily fit on your shelf or really, it could fit in my purse — haha I really would read a cookbook as a normal book – I’m weird like that!
Anyway… here’s a short video review of the book, check it out!!
Here are a just a few of the amazing recipes mentioned in this book:
- Artichoke fritters and polenta and herb stuffed mushrooms, perfect for cocktail hour -mmmmmm
- Tacos and spinach and cherry tomato risotto – sounds amazing! great way to change up taco night!
- Raspberry honeydew sorbet – perfect now that it’s starting to get warmer!
- Doughnut bites… I LOVE doughnuts!
- And sooooo much more!
